Another update!
Well, so far, I've slept in for most of the week and only really got up for visitors/food lol. I am tidying my room up bit by bit though so hopefully, within another week of picking up scrawled peices of paper and throwing out books, I should be able to sort out what I'm meant to be doing over the summer, what has to be done over the summer, and what I'm actually going to be doing over the summer! I have an excuse, however, for sleeping in so late the past week, having been crushed and moshed from behind at Wembley on the 8th, I think I deserve a rest and a break now for a few days (at least I came off better than the other people who were in front of me ;) - hehe... actually, the gig wasn't bad and went quite well, OK, so I was tired afterwards, but nobody got hurt or injured and the atmosphere seemed quite good. Nobody knew what support band would be playing instead of Bullet For My Valentine who pulled out at the last minute leaving just Mastodon and H.I.M. supporting Metallica for 3 hrs, but on the day, it turned out to be Machine Head, who, naturally, got almost as much crowd support as Metallica themselves - definately one of my fav. bands anyway. They decided to keep the 'inner circle' from Live Earth that was put on the day before though for some reason - I would have liked to have been inside of it, but I didn't hear any convincing ways as to how to actually get into it or reasons as to why some people seemed to be allowed in but not others. I think that it was probably just the lucky first few who had extra money on them that got in - which seemed pretty trash considering we'd all payed for free standing, where you like, tickets. I did get as close to the internal barrier as possible though (via a combination of crushing power and sheer determination lol) and it was pretty good fun! I managed to get myself invited to a party in The Sheilds on Tuesday by a complete stranger but on further investigation, I decided that The Sheilds was a bit far away! Never mind - I caught the last trains home and met a m8 from college at Gatwick Airport which was funny, he was on his way home with a couple of peeps too, I wondered why I hadn't seen him at the gig itself - found out he was sitting pah! I'm gonna tease him till the cows come home about it when I see him in September haha... All in all, I had a very good time - being alone, I met a fair few people who I chatted to and as is usual with metalheads etc, they were all very friendly. The only -ve was the acoustics in the new stadium - pretty bad! During the first two support bands I was standing in the middle and to be honest, distortion added to distortion added to distortion, so with the echos from the back of the stadium as well, all I could hear was noise, in its purest form, with a vague beat - which somewhat ruined Mastodon and Machine Head for me. Fortunately, after those two, I went for number 2 (lol) and came back out in a different place with a different perspective that was infinately better, so Metallica themselves, who were on last, sounded great - especially with all of Wembley stadium singing along!!
I've rediscovered text adventures though during the time I was awake during the week and since I run linux, have been desperately trying to get adrift running with wine - it won't work however, so I'm probably gonna have to program a clone that runs natively in linux - it should be pretty simple as it's not a terribly complicated program, also, python should be the ideal langauge for text adventures! Other news is pretty much non-existant so I'll be going and getting on with this new project hehe... but what to call it?...
~lemon. ;)
