Time flies!
Wow! I don't use the internet for two weeks and already there's been two release candidates of Blender 2.44 which now has subsurface scattering built in to the material options buttons and should be totally 64 bits safe! Add to that a new major release of ardour and some significant development in the aMSN camp too and I've had my work cut out trying to keep up! I was especially pleased to find the new ardour since I used the old version just last friday morning to get some college coursework done at the very last minute and wondered when there'd be a new one! Now that hand in week for all my coursework is over I should (hopefully) have time to do more programming and socialize more etc... as well as keep up to date on development of my favorite programs, although I'm not sure where revision fits in to all of this yet. The only things that have gone slightly downhill though the past week at least are probably my metabolism and my general state of mind - due to having finished my coursework now so there's nothing left to do or feel. (notably, the sense of feeling good after completing coursework has worn off) I hope that I pick up reasonably soon though as I'm supposed to be playing piano in a college concert next week which was "invite only" - to performers I mean - and I know that if I'm feeling nothing or empty it will affect my playing and probably make me sound like a plank of wood - which won't be good lol! Strangely enough, now that I do sort of feel nothing-ness, I keep finding it hard to concentrate on anything for any length of time - I did prove myself wrong here actually by playing scales on the piano for about 2 hours earlier in a desparate attempt to learn to play two different versions of the melodic minor together, ascending, then swapping the versions over to diferent hands at the top before descending again - this was a sort of rebelious idea spurred on by the fact that my piano teacher was trying her very hardest to get me to learn scales of some sort even though I hate them! I managed to perfect the two possible combinations of this method of playing A flat minor eventually, however, I'm not intending to learn in other keys after the sheer amount of time it took!
So anyway, since I finished my coursework last friday and have been taking the time to relax and have a break this past week after college each day I've had enough time to listen to some of Lordi's (heavy metal) stuff which I hadn't really got around to hearing properly before. They are one cool band, that's all I can say - but it's just a minor bit infuriating that their web store won't sell to the UK yet as I'm really in want of some of the merchandise and clothing which I think looks great! There are no gigs planned for the UK either it seems which is also rather annoying - I'm hoping that they'll tour at halloween like last year since I just have to see the stage costumes and stuff now that I've listened to their albums so much! I've gotta find somebody to take with me though if they do which could be pretty hard as I don't know that many metal fans well enough - ideally it would be a girl of course ;) - but that's unlikely as well since I really don't know any girls who like metal properly. Still, I might be able to persuwade someone (yes - I have certain people in mind here) though it's not that feasible that they'd say yes considering who I am in comparison to the other people they know and would probably rather go with if they went at all ... I will see what I can do ... This is all hypothetical of course lol!
Well, it's been a long while writing this post so I really must get on and publish it before the net goes off (which it does here unfortunately due to other "more important" family members grr...) - so until next time...
-lemon. :)
